The Dubai-based international airline, has today announced that it will abolish the practice of stand-alone fuel surcharges in the UK, when it incorporates them into its published air fares from 1st April, 2007.  Emirates will be the first carrier operating in the UK to make this move.

Vic Sheppard, Emirates’ Vice President UK & Ireland, says: "The cost of fuel is part of the operating cost of the airline, unlike airport taxes or security levies, and we feel that it makes more sense to our customers and to our travel trade partners, to make it a part of the fare.
