STANSTED TO EXPAND SECURITY SEARCH AREA
Stansted Airport is to increase the capacity of its security search area as part of a further £2-million pound investment to help speed up the security process for passengers at the terminal. The extension will allow for additional x-ray machines and arches to be installed, along with more entry points and security lanes, which will greatly increase the number of passengers that can pass through security every hour.
The area, which will be operational by the end of March, is being built to meet the challenges of the additional security measures introduced at all UK airports in August last year, and the demands of Stansted as a growing international airport.
